PROJECT / MARRACASH

For the “Persone Tour” Ombra worked on the creative direction, set design, content design, light design and last but not least, the cueing of all the technologies and aspects of the show, organising cues in timecode for automation, lasers, effects and teleprompters.

We crafted the entire show around a simple set that allowed us to redesign the stage space in an ever- evolving way during the show. We had 2 large elements with automation; a screen which turned into a walkable surface, and a large rectangular truss.

The overall creative of the show covers the 2 most recent albums that were released by Marracash before and during Covid.

The first album “Persona” is an introspective analysis of the artist of himself through a list of different body parts and emotions. This long-anticipated album was released after a long break and represents a completely different body of work than his usual “street” hits.

CHAPTER 1.

The show starts with a chaotic and “straight to the point” vibe with the artist appearing mid-air on the walking surface; this represents the chaos around him and what brought him to analyse himself and the problems affecting him. The moving truss moves all around the stage as the show unfolds and the walking led assumes different angles to create new, ever-evolving spaces on stage.

II CHAPTER

We step out of the main stage to get to a B Stage positioned just behind FOH in the centre of each arena.

Now it is the moment to cover all the street hits done during the years: the most popular songs that younger and older crowds know Marracash for. On the B stage, Marracash performs closer to the audience and this moment represents not only his past but it is also a point of reflection and change from what he “was” in the streets, namely “il king del rap,” - “the king of rap.”

III CHAPTER

Here we go back to Stage A to perform some of the most recent songs from the Album “Noi, Loro e Gli Altri”, an analysis of the rapper’s recent life events, people’s egos and situations surrounding him.

The visuals and lights are set in a more “clean” world, almost like coming from a place of understanding and deep introspection.

To conclude the show and this last chapter, we focused on “Infinite Love” one of the artist’s biggest tracks making it an an emotional moment in which the artist interacts with the crowd, throwing merch and thanking the team.
