We were contacted by Eddie Sears from Ultra Records to help design a visualizer for “New York” by Rocket Pengwin.

As described from the Pengwin himself, “New York” is the sonic and visual representation of falling out of orbit in a city that never stops spinning. The more you get to know the city, the more you realize that life around you will keep getting faster and faster, days will go by quicker and quicker, and you’ll inevitably lose a lot of sleep. This anxiety of being caught in an endless loop and not being able to get out, or more consequently breaking down, is the journey this song takes listeners on. The break at 2:06 represents hitting that short circuit. Dizzy and disoriented, you start picking up pieces and soon enough you’re back into the routine. It’s a metaphor for living on this planet, and squeezing it as hard as we can up until it puts us on pause.
